Superintendent's Message
Dear Parents & Community,
Thank you for the trust you have placed in me to serve as Superintendent of Saline Area Schools. Our district is known for its academic excellence, rich programming, and a community that deeply values education. Our mission is to nurture lifelong learning for our students, staff, and community. With the support of our Board of Education, talented educators, and dedicated support staff, we provide a well-rounded educational program for every student. Central to this work is our SAS Compass learner profile, which emphasizes creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. Whether in the classroom, on the stage, in the lab, on the field, or serving in the community, our students have opportunities to grow as leaders and problem-solvers who are well-equipped for college, careers, and life.
Saline Area Schools has a long-standing tradition of excellence, built on the belief that every child deserves the best in academics, arts, athletics, and character development. The upcoming year will bring hands-on learning experiences, innovative programs, and partnerships that connect students to the world beyond our classrooms. From advanced coursework and career technical education to music, theater, athletics, and service learning, every student will have a place to belong and a chance to shine.
The Class of 2025’s accomplishments reflect the high expectations and hard work of our students and staff. With recognition as one of America’s Best High Schools, the highest AP pass rate in Michigan, multiple National Merit honorees, and millions in scholarships earned, our graduates are well-prepared for their next steps. Whether they pursue higher education, skilled trades, the military, or the workforce, they leave Saline ready to contribute and lead.
We are fortunate to live in a community that strongly supports our schools. Volunteers, mentors, business partners, and engaged families all play an important role in the learning experience. This support sends a powerful message to our students about the value of education. As a district, we are also committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that all students see themselves in the curriculum, develop empathy, and appreciate our unique differences.
As both a new Superintendent and a new Saline resident, I see firsthand how deeply our schools are woven into the fabric of this community. I invite you to explore our website, learn more about the SAS Compass, and see why Saline is such a special place to learn and grow. If you are new to the district, I encourage you to tour our schools, speak with our enrollment team, building principals, and our team to discover the opportunities available to your child.

Every decision I make begins with a single, guiding question: “How will this help our students thrive?” This belief calls us to close opportunity gaps, open doors to new programs and supports, and ensure that every child, no matter their background, ability, or circumstance, has what they need to succeed. “All means all” is more than words; it is a promise I have lived throughout my career and will continue to uphold here in Saline. Even in a district as accomplished as ours, there is always room to dream bigger, reach higher, and create new possibilities. Together, we will honor what is already strong while building the future our students deserve—one where every learner is seen, supported, and inspired to achieve their fullest potential.
I look forward to working together, in partnership with students, families, staff, and the community. We will continue building a district where every student has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
